Piacenza in Emilia Romagna - Monumenti Equestri ai Farnese
Capolavoro indiscusso della statuaria barocca, i due monumenti equestri collocati in Piazza Cavalli - che da loro prende il nome - si devono allo scultore toscano Francesco Mochi da Montevarchi (1580 - 1654). Sulla destra è raffigurato Ranuccio Farnese (1620) in costume romano e con lo scettro; sui fianchi del basamento due bassorilievi raffigurano la Pace e il Buon Governo.
Sulla sinistra Alessandro Farnese (1625), padre di Ranuccio, avvolto in un fluttuante mantello e in sella ad un irruente cavallo. Ai lati del basamento, coronato da graziosi putti reggi-stemma, due bassorilievi che rappresentano scene della guerra combattuta da Alessandro nelle Fiandre.
