Forca d'Acero - Frosinone nel Lazio
FORCA D'ACERO - Il vallone di Forca d'Acero è situato nella parte orientale della Valle di Comino, alle pendici degli Appennini abruzzese-molisani, ad una altitudine di circa 800 mt. E di questa altitudine è tipica la vegetazione, caratterizzata da rigogliose faggete, tra le più belle del comprensorio. Nelle zone a bassa frequentazione umana, il sottobosco buio favorisce la presenza di specie arboree di carattere culminale, come il ginepro nano. Le faggete si alternano a tratti di prateria d'altitudine, in genere destinate al pascolo. Nei cieli, che sovrastano Forca d'Acero, è possibile avvistare alcuni rari esemplari di aquila reale, la cui presenza è, però, ostacolata dalla pratica di alcune attività sportive, come il deltaplano o il parapendio, congeniali a questo sito.
