QUELQUES INFORMATIONS
Le territoire de la commune de Bagnone s’étend sur 73,79 km2 dans la haute Lunigiana, zone essentiellement montagneuse. Son origine est liée à son château, elle devint au XV siècle le siège du vicariat de Florence. Parmi les ressources économiques du passé, les forêts de châtaigniers et l’élevage de moutons étaient les plus significatives. Bagnone est également une agréable station balnéaire mais sa fonction la plus importante dans l’histoire du territoire est liée à son marché hebdomadaire et à ses importantes foires saisonnières. Aujourd’hui encore l’agriculture, qui fournit des fourrages, des raisins et des olives, conserve au sein du territoire communal une importance considérable.
