Chiesa di San Lorenzo Martire, Cascina - Pisa in Toscana
La chiesa intitolata a San Lorenzo Martire, rivela la sua originaria struttura romanica. Edificata con un’unica navata, senza abside, mostra sulla facciata due riproduzioni di un antica epigrafe che attribuiva l’edificazione della prima San Lorenzo all’anno pisano 1046, ossia al 1045.
Gravi danni ebbe a subire nelle famose inondazioni del 1333 causate dallo straripamento dell’Arno. Il dono della reliquia di un dente del martire San Lorenzo è ricordato in un’epigrafe, ora murata all’interno della pieve nella parete sinistra sotto la cantoria.
